JUNE MINI HAUL! From Amazon Japan

Recently, I finally got a new hair cut and color, so I was super excited that I can now finally try the different ways of arranging and curling my hair. What I ordered from Amazon Japan:

1) Create Ion Grace Curl Iron
2) Nakano Curl X Glamorous Curl Lotion

Since some shops there don't really do international shipping, I was lucky that my friend agreed to help me send them here *^^*. He used the Japan Post EMS and I was sooo surprised because it literally took only around 5 days to arrive. So fast! Unfortunately, wasn't cheap. It costed me around ¥2,800 ($28 or Rp. 330000). But, shipping from Amazon Japan was free!

Create Ion Grace Curl Iron

I've always believed that Japan makes good quality curling iron (and other beauty gadgets, too). I've decided to get Create Ion Grace Curl Iron. Not only because the design is so pretty, but also because the brand has very high reviews on a Japanese beauty community website, @cosme.

Create Ion is a famous Japanese hair tool brand and was founded in 1984 (which is also another reason why I bought this). They make a wide variety of innovative hair tools in different shapes, sizes, and design. A lot of them are very unique too, and definitely not something that any other brand offer. They even made a collaboration with famous Japanese hair salon, Afloat.

The one I bought has a 32mm barrel (because I saw from Japanese hair curl tutorials and a lot of them use this size) and is from Create Ion's latest line, Grace Curl.
It comes with super cute box, a detailed instruction manual and a CD of hair curling tutorial videos. I love how they include the CD, so thoughtful!

Elegant design with gold supershine plate, pipe and white body. The lace decoration details make the product even cuter!

The company named the pipe, Create Ion Gold (クレイツイオン®ゴールド). It slides very well on the hair, unlike other curling irons that I've bought. This really decreases the damage on my hair, because I don't have to drag my hair too much on the barrel and over-heating them.
The plate is also very light and easy to push, so my fingers don't get tired when curling. I'm glad I'm finally saying goodbye to over crimping and leaving weird marks on my hair thanks to this hair curler. As a beginner, this hair curling is definitely very easy to use.

There are five levels of heat: 150 C ~ 190 C.  In the instruction book, they gave a quick guide of which temperature is suitable for different types of hair.

180 C ~ 190 C = Thick Hair, Strong Curly Hair
160 C ~ 180 C = Normal Hair, Curly Hair, Damaged Hair
150 C ~ 160 C = Soft Hair, Thin Hair, Heavily Damaged Hair

I usually set mine to 170 C and it heats up in around 1 Min. 30 Sec. So fast and convenient for busy people who have limited time.

PROS:
+ Voltage can be used internationally
+ Has a nice slide, plate is light
+ Heats up quickly
+ Super pretty design
+ Light and fits nicely in hand
CONS:
+ Not easily available (normal price only available in Japan)
Where To Buy?
I bought mine off Amazon Japan for ¥4,991 (around $50 or RP 580000) (Amazon.co.jp)
I think it's usually available online in Japan (kakaku.com, rakuten.com)
Will I Buy It Again?
Yes, I wanna buy the other type of hair curlers and straighteners too!

Can't be more satisfied. Will recommend it to everyone

Nakano Curl X Glamorous Curl

I just had to buy a good curling lotion to accompany my curling iron. Curl X Glamorous Curl is made by Nakano Seiyaku. Founded in 1959, it is a famous brand in Japan that manufactures and specializes in hair care cosmetics. They have different lines in the brand and literally sell everything from hair color to hair grown and scalp care. On an online tutorial, I heard that Nakano brand is the one to trust.

The lotion that I got is from Nakano's Glamorous Curl line. It claims to repair damaged hair with its conditioning ingredients, while creating natural and attractive curls. I do feel that after spraying a coat it makes my hair easier to curl. The curls also look better and smoother. My curl lasted for the whole and I was also surprised that some of them lasted till the next day. As for heat protection, I feel that it does a pretty decent job. My hair doesn't feel dry after curling.

After spraying, the liquid is not sticky on the hair and absorbs into the hair immediately. Also, it doesn't smell like chemical and is actually pretty pleasant.

The pink bottle packaging with the gold fonts looks glamorously cute.

PROS:
+ Give better, natural-looking curls
+ Curls last longer
+ Cute packaging
+ Affordable
CONS:
+ Only available in Japan
Where To Buy?
I bought the 150ml size on Amazon Japan for ¥1,200 (around $12 or Rp. 140000) (Amazon.co.jp)
When I went to Japan, however, I don't remember seeing these in the drug stores.

Will I Buy It Again?
Yes, but since shipping from Japan is expensive, I might have to wait

Final Say
Overall, I like how it helped the look of my curls, but took of 1/2 point because I wasn't sure how much protection it actually gives.

These are my hair after using both of the products above. Sorry for the mediocre job on the curls, I'm still a starter at this.

Hope you guys enjoyed the post. See you again next time :)
