Haircut at Hair Studio Shunji Matsuo by HiSATO

Finally! I was able to get a haircut today at Hair Studio Shunji Matsuo by Hisato in Lippo Mall Kemang. I'm very, very picky about my hair and since 3 years ago, I've only let Japanese hair salons to handle my hair. Why? Because of the good quality of Japanese cutting and how I like the style of it. (well, also, I like everything related to Japan :P)

From what I know, there's not that many Japanese hair salon in Jakarta and Shunji Matsuo is a pretty well-known one. I live 10 minutes away from the mall (YES!!) and it's nice to have such an awesome Japanese hair salon nearby. I've been wanting to go here and I'm glad I did. The salon really lives up to its reputation. I must say, I was really happy with the result!

Environment and Place

 The interior is super chic and clean. It's kinda a mix between modern and glamorous (with the golden detailed mirror and that pretty chandelier!!). Really spacious and comfortable. It really feels like a Japanese style hair salon.

Most of the stylists are Japanese and I think 2 of them and the rest of the staffs are Indonesian. Service was excellent ! (as expected from a Japanese hair salon) and everyone was super friendly. They have lockers to keep your bags safe too!

Hair Wash and Cut

They give a really AMAZING HAIR WASH. My face didn't get wet at all and the massage felt very, very nice. This is why I love Japanese hair salons, they just give you such a good and proper hair wash (few years ago, I almost fell asleep during one, so embarassing). If you haven't experienced one, it's definitely a must-try even just for once. Sorry to say, but, all other hair washes in other hair salons just can't compare.

This time, I tried their Carbonated Water System (CWS), a technique of hair washing from Japan using soda water. Basically, they washed my hair with this jet shower-thing (I'm not sure what it is, but it felt really nice). This suppose to make my scalp clean, hair shinier, and dyed hair color last longer.

The CWS felt like a nice head massage and my hair felt softer afterwards *^^*.

My stylist was Miyuki-san. She was super cute and friendly (and good in speaking Indonesian, too). But, it was nice that I got to practice speaking Japanese with her :) We discussed about how I want my hair done, I showed her a picture of my favorite Japanese model 八木アリサ (Yagi Arisa) from ViVi and she began cutting my hair immediately.

Miyuki-san took care of my hair really nicely. She was really detailed and took good care of my hair.

What I notice about getting a haircut in Japanese hair salon is that, they cut your hair the first time, when it's wet and the second time, after they dry it. I always appreciate this cause it really shows how they care.

Note: Since Yagi Arisa's hair isn't layered, she only put a bit of layer in the front part of my hair (as a suggestion). I requested for this.

Price

Okay, so this is the most important part. The price will change depending on which stylist you choose. And, let me say this, it is not cheap. BUT, you get what you pay for and it was worth every Rupiahs! :)
