Celebrating San Francisco Pride 2014!

Every year in Summer, San Francisco commemorates the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) heritage and culture with a huge parade. This is the famous San Francisco Pride celebration, where people, whether they are LGBT or not, gather together to celebrate. This year marks the 44th anniversary of the parade and the theme was "Color Our World with Pride". And finally, I got the chance to see it last Sunday.

Anyone visiting the California Bay Area in the summer should definitely make time to see this festivity! It's definitely a really fun experience.

The parade started at 11AM and lasted until 6PM along Market St.
Look at the crowds! A lot of people were also getting dressed for the celebration. It was pretty hectic, but I'm glad that I was a part of it. Oh, and thank you, San Francisco, for the beautiful blue sky and perfectly sunny weather!

Numerous floats of different organizations and giant companies, from Apple to Chipotle, joined the celebration and marched along. I thought to myself that it must be tiring, marching half a day like that, so kudos for their spirits! A lot of the performers were wearing really extravagant and bold costumes.

There was literally a guy riding a shiny silver, giant burrito on Chipotle's float.

Chase Bank was giving out free, rainbow-colored, plastic wristbands. It was really cool because other companies gave a lot of freebies to spectators.

After the parade ended, we decided to go and stroll around the San Francisco gay neighborhood, Castro District.

It's really cute that even the Levi's store's logo was painted in rainbow!

The best way to end the day. Amazing view of San Francisco on our way back to the car.

Were you a part of the crowd during this year's pride parade?
