Sammycchi Days: Review - Avance Joli et Joli et Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Black (Holy Grail Alert)

Introducing you one of my holy grail items, Avance's Joli et Joli et Liquid Eyeliner.

This is hands down my favorite and must-have liquid eyeliner. I tried other eye liners and most of them don't really compare to this one. It's just the best that I've used so far and this is my 3rd purchase. Definitely a holy grail item for me.

Avance is a Japanese company specializing in eye beauty products. On its website, it says that the company was founded in 1925 and introduced the makeup techniques of American cinema to Japan. It played an important role in shaping Japan's beauty culture.

The eyeliner comes in black and brown. I got black this time.

The packaging is colored in classic red with gold decorations. It has a very elegant and mature feel to it.

The tip of the liner is only 0.1mm ! Really thin and precise. It glides on the skin really well, making it easy to draw the eyes.

Smudge Test

It was very hard for me to make this eyeliner smudge when my hands are dry. I had to try several times to make it smudge like this. It really does settle well on the skin. Even when I accidentally rubbed my eyes, my eye makeup was still okay.

Waterproof Test

As the brand claims, Joli et Joli et is highly water-proof. Last week, I went to an outdoor parade outside under the summer sun and after sweating, this eyeliner still lasted on my eyes even after 6 hours. However, I would say the eyeliner does get wet, try not to rub them. The next test that I did would explain why.

Removal Test

Surprisingly, it was easier removing this eyeliner by water than by my eye oil makeup remover. So, I would say that if your eyes do get wet, be careful not to rub them as it will erase the eyeliner immediately! (top: Erased with water, bottom: erased with oil remover)

Application

Some photos I took while I was wearing Avance Joli et Joli et eyeliner. I always had problems with eyeliners not producing dark enough lines. But, Joli et joli et liquid eyeliner produces really deep and fine black lines. It's really nice because I can draw the lines in one go without layering it.
